About us

Scientific Library of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University as the leading structural subdivision of the educational institution is an information center equipped with modern technologies and information systems as the leading structural department of the educational institution. The library fund is stocked with traditional and electronic publications in all fields of knowledge, about two million. The Research Library consists of the following departments:

▪ Department of cataloguing and scientific information processing;

▪ Department of digitalization of library and information processes;

▪ Information Services Department        

The main activity of the scientific library is supporting research work in the educational system of the university, expansion of library information resources, improvement of technological infrastructure, creation of an effective information environment for readers, development of professional competence of library workers.

Today the work of the electronic library is fully automated and accessible remotely through the MegaPro program (https://library.korkyt.kz/MegaPro/Web). Users through all computers connected to the university server have the opportunity to work online with subscription foreign database Scopus (https://www.scopus.com); ClarivateAnalytics  (http://apps.webofknowledge.com). Widely used open domestic electronic resources such as: Library Al-farabi, platform «Open University of Kašakhstan», «I-Kitap», etc.

The university library extended the contract for 5 years (2021-2025) in order to use the database of the republican interuniversity electronic library (www.rmebrk.kz). Since September 2021, a contract for a period of 5 years was concluded for the use of the database of the national electronic library «ALEM BOOK» (https://new.alemlibrary.kz) .

The scientific library has working pages on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011998302021), on Instagram (https://instagram.com/korkytata_kitaphanasy?igshid=NzZlODBkYWE4Ng) and takes a special place in the information and educational environment of the university, strives to become a real information center, which provides its users with all the necessary information in support of training, creating comfortable conditions for the search and acquisition of knowledge, conducting research work.
